March 3 (18:00) : rare appearance of bassist Jean Warland at the Jazz Station
On March 3, 2012 (at 6 pm), the legendary bassist Jean Warland (85) will give a (farewell ?) concert at the jazz Station in Brussels, surrounded by Fabrice Alleman (sax, clar), Phil Abraham (tb), Frédéric Jacquemin (drs) and Jean-Louis Rassinfosse (b). A unique opportunity to hear and pay a tribute to this historical figure of Belgian jazz.

On April 29, 2012, Toots Thielemans will celebrate his 90th birthday !
Many events will take place for the occasion. A tour is planned from April 30 thru May 18, 2012, as well as a cd, a dvd and a book :"Toots 90" (in 3 languages), full of testimonies on the legendary musician provided by many colleagues.

An Oscar for "The Artist", best music soundtrack, featuring the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Jef Neve
After a Golden Globe, aEuropean Film Award, a César, a Bafta award (UK), the Oscars crowned the movie "The Artist" (Michel Hazanavicius) in several categories, including best music soundtrack. The music, composed by Ludovic Bource, was recorded in Brussels (Studio 4, Flagey) by the Brussels Jazz Orchestra (playing a.o. with great conviction in the Benny Goodman's big band style !), the Brussels Philharmonic (conducted by Ernst van Tiel, NL) and pianist Jef Neve.

    The Del-Ferro-Vaganée Group has recorded a new album
    Saxophonist Frank Vaganée was in the recording studio with the Del-Ferro-Vaganée Group on 6, 7 and 8 February, 2012, to record a new CD to be released in May 2012 on the WERF label. The band consists of Mike Del Ferro (piano), Jos Machtel (double bass) and Jens Düppe (drums).
